Complaint processes

If you feel like your rights have been denied, or that you have received poor healthcare, you can make a complaint. It is a good idea to speak directly to the health professional first. Either you can speak to them, or you can have someone — such as a family member, carer or guardian — to represent you. You can also speak to another health professional in their organisation if you prefer.

If you are not satisfied with what happens, you can lodge a formal complaint with the health complaints organisation in your state or territory:
