LGBTQIA+ Health
In Australia, up to 11 in 100 people may have a diverse sexual orientation, sex or gender identity.
Many LGBTQIA+ people in Australia live healthy, happy and fulfilling lives. However, non-heterosexual people face up to twice as much abuse or violence than heterosexual people, and LGBTIQ+ people have an increased risk of depression and anxiety, substance abuse, self-harming and suicidal thoughts. People in LGBTQIA+ communities deserve equal access to all aspects of healthcare without discrimination. Below are links to organisations and resources that support the health and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ people.
